Pioneer Truck Parts and Equipment Corporation recently held a truck facility tour at the company’s manufacturing plant in Cabuyao, Laguna, headed by Managing Director Aaron Go, and was attended by guests from the media.
After the welcome briefing, Go took the guests to Pioneer’s 8,000 sq. m. covered truck repair and maintenance yard, where windshield replacement, brake repair and engine overhaul or replacement, and all major and minor jobs are done by the company’s well-trained personnel and using their extensive inventory of truck parts and accessories.
As the exclusive distributors of the Speed Limiter device, Pioneer also does installation of the device in-house or send mechanics to install the speed limiter device on-site depending on the client’s requirements, and have already installed Speed Limiters to truck fleets of major logistics companies and truck manufacturers such as Isuzu Philippines Corporation.
The guests were also brought to Pioneer’s showroom, where the future DAF trucks will be made. Aside from truck and trailer parts, the company is also the importer of globally-known truck brands such as, DAF Trucks, Kenworth International, and Peterbuilt.
Aside from the facility tour, the media were able to experience the safety benefits of the Speed Limiter installed on Pioneer trucks, action utility vehicle (AUV), and to public transport vans in the country.
The Speed Limiter is an electronic device that controls the top speed of the vehicles to either comply with the government’s legislation or vehicle owner’s request, without affecting any other aspect of the vehicle’s operation. It also improves fuel consumption and emissions.
Speed Limiter works by controlling the fuel flow system (for vehicles without engine managements). The engine control unit (ECU) is connected to a speed signal (electronic speedometer, ABS or mechanical sensor) and receives frequency signals while the vehicle is moving. At a preset frequency, say 80kph, then the ECU transmits a signal to the engine management system which then holds the vehicle’s speed. The operator/owner can preset the maximum speed of the truck or van as he wishes.
Moreover, the Speed Limiter will stop erring drivers from over revving and immediately equate to cutting down on fuel costs. This rev control system ensures to correct driver behavior and driving style which is crucial in an urban environment.
“Our objective is for all fleet owners to extend vehicle life, improve economy, reduce maintenance costs and promote public commuter safety,” said Go.
Pioneer also carries other brands for trucks and trailer parts such as PNW systems, JOST, Kenworth, and PACCAR parts and accessories. Their satellite showroom is located at their corporate headquarters in Quezon City, and have every part and accessory on display at their showroom.
