LG’s newest Smart Phone is set to make waves
Two months after its global unveiling at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, the LG G6, a multi-awarded phone, officially walked into the doors of the Philippine market through its launch at the SM Mega Fashion Trade Hall.
Due to consumers’ demand of a compact phone that can fit in one hand, LG G6 goes back to basics with 5.7-inch QHD + FullVision display, and a highly functional 18:9 screen-to-body ratio. The aspect ratio display offers more viewing space and a more immersive video streaming and gaming experience.
With its sculpted aluminum and glass, the G6 offers a sleek minimalist design with rounded corners, extremely narrow bezels and a perfectly flat black—no camera bump to avoid or protect.
LG G6 also boasts of the Dolby Vision technology, which it claims to be smartphone’s first, and it also supports HDR 10, both of which are standards for High Dynamic Range (HDR), the picture quality technology which allows a wider range of color, luminosity and detail. Users can now watch their favorite movies and TV series in the stunning HDR quality of G6.
The G6 also has naturally advanced standard and wide-angled settings on front and rear cameras – dual 13 MP rear cameras and a 100-degree field of view with the wide angle 5MP front camera. Its Square Camera mode can divide the square into two identical squares for simultaneous photo taking. Users can also up their food photography game with the popular Food Mode function.
LG G6 is also a water and dust resistant phone, thay can be immersed in up to 1.5 meters of water for as long as 30 minutes.
Users also need not worry about accidental drops and other rough environments during everyday use. For greater reliability against overheating, the G6 is designed with a metal frame and heat pipe to dissolve heat.
Prominent personalities like LA Tenorio and Sharlene San Pedro graced the launch and encouraged the public to try out the smartphone, while respected industry names shared their own acclaims from different points of view.
Social media influencer Janeena Chan raved about the G6 camera’s square feature and wide-angle mode while Spot.ph’s Owen Maddela shared his experience with the Food Mode.
Director of local blockbuster “I’m Drunk, I Love You” JP Habac commended the G6’s video taking and Dolby Vision capabilities, while the Hi-Fi Quad DAC audio quality was lauded by Yael Yuzon, the lead singer of popular music band Spongecola.
“We’re so excited to introduce to the Philippine market our newest mobile innovation,” LG Mobile Philippines vice president Jay Won said. “It received excellent feedback from tech experts worldwide because we listened to customers’ modern needs. The G6 went back to basics and took smartphone design, convenience and overall user experience to the next level. With the G6, we hope that Filipinos will be able to expand their capabilities using the big, immersive screen that fits in one hand.”
