Petron awards prizes to student winners of 2017 Vision Petron

Petron Corporation recognizes 62 young artists for various art categories

From thousands of entries that highlighted Filipinos’ talents, unique skills, and strengths, Petron Corporation has awarded the winners of its annual student art competition – Vision Petron – last November 23 at the old Senate Hall of the National Museum.

With this year’s theme “Tuklas Kagalingan,” 62 young artists from all over the country were recognized in different categories such as watercolor painting, oil/acrylic painting, photography, t-shirt design, video-making, and music.

In painting category, the grand prize winners took home Php 70,000 and an Abueva trophy, while the runners-up received Php 30,000 with a Vision Petron trophy, and the semi-finalists received Php 5,000.

The winners in photography category received Php 50,000 and an Abueva plaque, while the runners-up got Php 25,000.

Finally, in the t-shirt design, video-making, and music categories, the grand prize winners were the recipients of P50,000 and an Abueva plaque, and all winners received a certificate and a gift pack from Petron.

The top 5 schools with the most number of entries received a certificate, a printer, and gift bags from Petron, while the winning schools received a brand new computer. The participating schools were St. Louis University (Baguio), Technological University of the Philippines (Manila), Technological Institute of the Philippines (Quezon City), Eulogio “Amang” Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology (Manila), and STI College Muñoz EDSA.

Throughout its 17-year history, Vision Petron has won more than 150 awards from different award-giving bodies. Recently, it bagged four awards at the 2017 IABC Philippines Quill Awards. The Vision Petron Folio has also been inducted into the Anvil Hall of Fame for consistently winning a Gold Anvil year after year.
