Next generation Mazda3 concept car to premiere at Tokyo

Car concepts will embody Mazda’s next-gen of design

Mazda Motor Corporation has announced that it will exhibit two concept models at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show – one that bears the company’s next-generation of products, and the other embodies the direction of the company’s next-generation of design.

With this year’s theme “Celebrate Driving”, Mazda continues to commit in enriching people’s lives, which was indicated by the company’s determination to continue offering cars that celebrate the driving experience, enrich lives, and build a strong bond with customers.

The concept model of Mazda will be a compact hatchback that combines the next-generation technology and design. It also has Skyactiv-Vehicle Architecture, and technologies that applies a human-centered design philosophy for optimal functionality. Powered by the Skyactiv-X, the concept model is set to be the world’s first commercial gasoline engine to use compression ignition. Its performance has been refined, and the design has been condensed to create Mazda’s ideal compact hatchback.

The design vision model embodies the concepts that will define the next generation of Mazda design, resulting in a more profound expression of the globally-acclaimed KODO design language Mazda debuted on the Mazda CX-5 in 2012.
