With four model generations in three decades, Mazda MX-5 has been recognized as the Best-selling Sports Car in the World by the Guinness World Records, having sold more than a million units around the world since its introduction in 1989. Celebrating 30 years of the MX-5’s heritage, Mazda has revealed the MX-5 30th Anniversary Edition Retractable Fastback (RF) in both automatic and manual transmission variants, featuring an exclusive Racing Orange color, and a unique set of commemorative fixtures.
There will only be 3,000 examples of the MX-5 30th Anniversary Edition worldwide, with 30 units allocated to the Philippine market; so it goes without saying that its collectability is cemented. To enhance the point even further, a unique badge showcasing the production number of each car acknowledges the limited number of this special edition model.
Complementing the Anniversary Eddition’s bright orange color scheme are splashes of orange in the front Brembo and the rear factory brake calipers as well as in the door panels and dashboard accents. The color scheme naturally carries over to its special orange-lined Recaro sports seats as well. 17-inch lightweight forged aluminum Rays wheels each carry a special engraving to commemorate the MX-5 30th Anniversary Special Edition, connected to Bilstein dampers in all four corners for the manual transmission model.
The Anniversary Edition MX-5 continues to provide thrills via its 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G engine which produces 184 hp with a 7,500 rpm red line, mated to either a 6-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmission. The Mazda Connect system powers a 9-speaker Bose Premium sound system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
By combining the best technical solutions to providing a unique driving experience, the MX-5 30th Anniversary Edition promises to be the culmination of a 30-year evolution of driving pleasure. A true representation of Mazda Jinba Ittai as both driver and car come together in driving harmony.
The 30 units of the MX-5 30th Anniversary Edition will be offered at P2,990,000 each.
