Lamborghini donates customized Huracan RWD to Pope Francis

Ad Personam Huracan RWD to be auctioned for charity in 2018

Automobili Lamborghini recently donated to Pope Francis a unique Ad Personam Huracan RWD, which will be auctioned for charity on May 12, 2018.

The Lamborghini Huracan RWD will be auctioned by RM Sotheby, with the proceeds going to three charities of the Pope: the reconstruction of the Nineveh Plain under the patronage of the Pontifical Foundation “Aiuto alla Chiesa che Soffre” (Aid to the Church in Need), the Pope John XXIII Community that is dedicated to help women who are victims of trafficking and other abuses, and two Italian associations that carry out reach-out programs in Africa.

Created in homage to the Vatican, the Lamborghini Huracan RWD special edition pays tribute to the colors of the flag of the holy city, painted in Blanco Monocerus with Giallo Tiberino, and decorated alongside the Huracan’s silhouette.

The ceremony of the vehicle presentation was held in the Vatican in the presence of Pope Francis and Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Automobili Lamborghini. They were joined by a part of the Company’s Management Board and two technicians who built the special car.

In 2014, Pope Francis had a 2013 Harley-Davidson Dyna Super Glide, which was sold for $327,000, and a leather motorcycle jacket sold for $ 77,485 at a Bonhams auction in Paris.  Money from Pope’s signed items was given to a hostel and soup kitchen at the Termini train station in Rome.
