Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) officially revealed the all-new Isuzu Traviz lightweight truck. The Traviz is the smallest member of Isuzu’s lightweight commercial truck lineup designed to address the needs of local customers and consumers.
“The all-new Isuzu Traviz continues our tradition of providing not just reliable products but business solutions — reasons why, in the Philippines, Isuzu has been at the number-one spot for 19 years,” said IPC President Hajime Koso.
Available in two variants, the Traviz S (short wheelbase) is available at PhP 962,000.00, while the Traviz L (long wheelbase) is priced at PhP 992,000.00. IPC claims that the design concept combines the best qualities of Japan’s best-selling truck — hexapod design, fuel efficiency, capacity, rigidity — with the flexibility and stability of Isuzu pickups.
The Traviz competes in the same class as the newly launched Suzuki Carry, and the proven Mitsubishi L300. It has a payload capacity of 1.6 tonnes, the heaviest in the lightweight truck category. It’s powered by a 4JA1 2.5-liter Direct Injection Common Rail Blue Power diesel engine that’s connected to a 5-speed manual transmission. Note that it shares the same motor as the Isuzu Crosswind. It produces 77 bhp at 3,900 rpm and 130 lb-ft. of torque at 1,800 rpm.
With an array configurations available, the Traviz is ideal for food businesses, utility companies, cargo and logistics, transport and delivery services, and in open load use in agriculture, construction, and equipment.
The Traviz is equipped with a Tuner Radio with USB and two speakers and comes standard with a Reverse Warning Buzzer. An air-conditioning system is optional. It has a turning radius of 4.5 meters to help drivers maneuver in tight spaces while carrying heavy loads.
Produced in Isuzu’s world-class assembly plant in Indonesia, the Traviz (locally known as the Traga) gained a 46 percent share of the market segment within a year of its introduction.
The all-new Isuzu Traviz comes with a 3-year/100,000 km warranty, whichever comes first.
