Indian’s rise to success is nothing short of spectacular. Since the brand’s relaunch in 2013, they have scored big success with their impressive lineup of cruisers such as the Chief and much lately, the Scout and their derivatives. But now Indian is targeting a different segment with a sportier offering; the FTR 1200.
The FTR 1200 is based on the company’s successful FTR750 dirt tracker, and it’s an absolute stunner. We first saw the FTR late last year at the EICMA show in Milan, Italy and we can’t help ourselves but stare endlessly at its beautiful design.
Powering the FTR 1200 is a bored out liquid-cooled V-twin based on the Scout. Performance is all but guaranteed with a claimed 123 horsepower, 87 ft lb of torque and a curb weight of just 226 kg. The FTR 1200 also comes loaded with all the modern electronic rider aids like riding modes, traction control, lean-sensitive stability control, cornering abs and even wheelie mitigation control. The FTR 1200 should be a worthy adversary for a lot of naked sport bikes.
Ted Alberto, the General Manager of Access Plus, recently revealed to us the pricing of the three FTR 1200 variants that will be arriving in the Philippines after the world launch sometime in June or early July.
Below are the prices of the three FTR 1200 variants:
- PhP 995,000 – FTR 1200 (base model)
- PhP 1,195,000 – FTR 1200 S
- PhP 1,295,000 – 1,335,000 – Race Replica
