Honda Cars PH urges customers to take part in safety recall

HCPI calls owners of 2001 to 2005 City, Jazz, Civic, CR-V, Accord, Pilot for safety recall of airbag

Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) urges customers to take part in the voluntary safety recall of the City, Jazz, Civic, CR-V, Accord, and Pilot that were sold in the country from 2001 to 2005 due to a suspected defect in the inflator of the driver side airbag.

The safety recall of Honda shows the company’s effort to ensure safety of the affected vehicles’ owners, and avoiding any unfortunate circumstances in the future. To date, no accident or injuries were reported related to this concern in the Philippines.

“We encourage everyone, if you have a friend and family member who owns a Honda vehicle, we urge you to call our hotline numbers or check our website to check if their vehicle is affected. You must take action now,” said Noriyuki Takakura, president and general manager of HCPI.

The voluntary safety recall for select models is free of charge in any 37 authorized Honda Car dealerships and three authorized service outlets nationwide. Customers can check if their Honda vehicle is affected through the recall webpage at hondaphil.com/services/vin-search. The website has a Chassis Number consisting of 17 digits/Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) Check Tool to enable customers to see if their vehicle is affected.

Customers can also call the dedicated Honda hotline numbers at 1-800- 1000-HONDA (46632) or (02) 857-7240 between 8am to 5pm from Monday to Friday or through email at update@hondaphil.com.

HCPI aims to repair more than 199,000 possibly affected vehicles in the Philippines. Customers are encouraged to immediately schedule an appointment at any dealership. Honda Dealers are open from 9am to 6pm, Monday to Saturday.
