The Vantage nameplate roots from a grandiose lineage of purebred sports cars. Seven decades after it was first introduced, it has graciously evolved to become an icon for Aston Martin.
Aston Martin Manila introduced the new Vantage earlier this week. Featuring pure and sculptural forms, the design creates an athletic and predatory stance. Agility and dynamism are evident in its minimal front and rear overhangs and broad haunches. Signature new head and tail lights give the Vantage a pronounced presence on the road.
“We are extremely excited to finally launch the all-new Aston Martin Vantage in Manila. From its successful predecessor, we have something entirely new, signifying the new era of Aston Martin. One’s senses will be truly overwhelmed when driving this car on the road with its incredible agility and dynamic performance. It has a 4.0 liter and a new twin turbocharged V8 which creates that distinctive Aston Martin roar,” said Marc Tagle, president of Aston Martin Manila.
Aerodynamic performance was fundamental in the development of the new Vantage. The front splitter directs airflow underneath the car, where a structure of fences channels air where cooling is required. It also ensures the rear diffuser receives airflow. Designed to create an area of low-pressure air, the diffuser also prevents turbulence generated by the rear wheels from obstructing the flow of air exiting centrally from beneath the rear of the car.
The same design theme is found in the interior of the Vantage through the integration of a dynamic and sports-focused sports cockpit. It presents sharp and focused lines, reflecting the aggressive nature of the Vantage. Aimed to create a more immersive driving theme is a high waist interior theme and lower driving position. Moreover, it improves occupant space and headroom compared to the previous model. Rotary and toggle style control complement each other for tactile functionality. In line with this, the PRND transmission buttons have been organized in a triangular formation to group controls into clearly defined spaces.
The new Vantage also marks the first time an Aston Martin gets an Electric Rear Differential (E-Diff). Connected to the car’s electronic stability control system, it can understand the car’s behavior, helping it react accordingly to direct the engine’s power to the relevant wheel.
At the center of the new Aston Martin Vantage is a new alloy 4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. Set low and far at the back of the chassis for optimal center of gravity and a 50:50 weight distribution, the Vantage creates 510 ps at 6000 rpm, and 505 lb-ft of from 2000 to 5000 rpm. It has a maximum speed of 314 kph and can go from 0 to 100 kph in 3.5 seconds.
With a dry weight of 1530 kg, the car’s power-to-weight and torque-to-weight ratios are maximized. Integral in the luxury and reputation that comes with the Aston Martin brand, the character and personality of the Vantage are evident in the exhaust and engine management system.
The new Vantage is now available. For inquiries, visit the Aston Martin Manila Showroom at G/F, W Fifth Building, 5th Ave. cor. 32nd Street, BGC, Taguig City or call +6327710007.
