The 2018 Honda CRF250R is even more trail-ready

Aimed at trail riders looking at maximum power and handling

Designed and developed following the same “Absolute Holeshot” philosophy as the CRF450R, the highly anticipated motocross model features a host of updates shared with its bigger brother.

With a 249cc engine now featuring an all-new dual-overhead-cam design and a finger rocker arm with Diamond Like Coating (DLC), power has increased at higher limits of the rev range. The engine has more over-square dimensions, with cylinder offset increased, and a bridge box design, a first for a Honda motocross bike. New intakes allow maximum efficiency, with twin exhaust ports that features better routing and optimized pipe length. Electric starter is also standard with a lightweight battery. The result is an engine with more power across the rev range and impressive peak power.

The 2018 CRF250R reduces overall weight, particularly up high and at the ends of the motorcycle, thanks to a slim and low layout that allows superb rear-wheel traction and minimal front-end lift for strong acceleration. Optimized flex characteristics from the frame and subframe allow for good stability and rider feedback. An all-new titanium fuel tank and a new Showa coil-spring fork contributes to a plush suspension feel, and a lower, more centralized shock location improves stability.
