Philippine KTM Production Line Now in Full Swing

Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala, through his official Facebook page, recently announced that KTM Asia Motorcycle Manufacturing Inc., a joint venture between the Ayala Group and Austria’s’ KTM AG, have commenced full operation of their new KTM assembly plant located at the Integrated Micro-Electronics, Inc., another Ayala subsidiary, located at Building I, North Science Avenue in Binan, Laguna.

With the capacity to assemble 20,000 units annually when fully operational, the new KTM plant in Binan will initially assemble 6,000 to 10,000 units of the Duke 200 and RC 200 motorcycles. KTM hopes to sell around 3,000 to 5,000 units to the domestic market annually and the rest to be exported to China, Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam.

KTM AG is the biggest European motorcycle manufacturer with a 9.6 percent market share across Europe. In 2015, it sold over 180,000 units with revenues exceeding 1 billion euros.
