Subaru’s first model to use the Subaru Global Platform
The all-new Impreza was introduced by Motor Image Pilipinas, the exclusive distributor of Subaru in the Philippines, at the 2017 Manila International Auto Show.
Being the first model to use the Subaru Global Platform (which will serve as the architecture for all future Subaru models), this fifth-generation of the Impreza was recently awarded the coveted title of 2016-2017 Japan Car of the Year.
Subaru’s slogan “confidence in motion” will most definitely serve to empower its drivers even more with the new Impreza. Powered by Subaru’s Boxer Engine, equipped with All-Wheel Drive, along with safety features like Steering Responsive Headlights and Subaru Rear Vehicle Detection (SRVD), and the Global Platform, getting behind the wheel will be a treat as your driving experience is elevated with significantly less vibration and noise, plus more precise control of the vehicle at all times.
Apart from performance, safety has always been of utmost importance for the Japanese manufacturer. Improvements to the suspension system and the car’s structural rigidity have garnered high ratings from NCAP and IIHS. The lower center of gravity gives drivers more responsive steering, and the enhanced body strength, by way of high-tensile steel, also ensures passenger cabin safety in the event of a collision.
As of posting, the new Subaru Impreza will be available as a four-door sedan equipped with a 2.0i-S Direct Injection Naturally Aspirated Engine.
