A track-focused Chevrolet
The ultimate Camaro track-day model, the ZL1 1LE, leads the 2018 Camaro lineup and taking the track-focused 1LE legacy to an unprecedented level. With racing-based suspension and aero technologies, the ZL1 1 LE represents the most extreme track-focused Camaro to date.
The new ZL1 1LE Extreme Track Performance Package has an additional power of 650 hp, making the Camaro lineup more diverse and exciting than ever, and offers the customers the ability to select and personalize their ultimate performance car.
To help the car stick harder and drive faster in turns, the ZL1 1LE has a downforce-producing aero that features a carbon fiber rear wing, specific air deflectors, and dive planes on the front fascia that produce grip-generating downforce.
The racing-derived, lightweight Multimatic DSSV (Dynamic Suspension Spool Valve) dampers front and rear offer exceptional wheel and vehicle control. The front-end ride height is adjustable, along with the caster geometry, and the rear stabilizer bar also offers three-way adjustability.
The ZL1 1LE’s new, specific lightweight forged aluminum wheels are wider but have smaller diameter than the standard ZL1 wheels. Its new Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3R tires deliver a maximum lateral grip of 1.10 g. The overall footprint grows approximately 10 percent over the ZL1, but the wheel-and-tire package weighs about 3.3 pounds (1.5 kg) less per corner.
As an additional contribute to an approximately 60-pound lower curb weight than the standard ZL1 Coupe, the ZL1 1LE features lighter heels and dampers, along with thinner rear glass, and a fixed back rear seat.
The supercharged performance of the ZL1 1LE is powered by a 650 hp and supercharged LT4 engine, which is backed by a six-speed manual transmission featuring an Active Rev Match. Aside from the powerful performance, this Camaro variant also features Brembo brakes, dual-zone automatic climate control, Bose premium audio system, heated/ventilated front seats, and heated steering wheel.
