2018 Toyota Hilux Conquest gets bolder, sportier design
Toyota Philippines has started the 2018 by bringing the facelifted model of the Hilux, the Conquest variant, designed to thrill the hearts and minds of those who seek adventure and looking for a powerful driving experience.
Outside, the Hilux Conquest has a bolder and more aggressive design – a black painted wide honeycomb-shaped grille and two sports bar, a more defined corner bumpers, and a new pair of slim fog light housing. The Conquest also has LED headlights and daytime running lights, and the rear has a new design and side steps. Other exterior features include a bed liner, and 18-inch alloy wheels.
However, the Conquest has subtle changes in the interior such as the updated infotainment display that has an AM/FM radio, Bluetooth, USB, and AUX input, a keyless start button, a newly furnished black interior trim, and steering wheel audio control.
Under the hood, the Hilux’s new variant is powered by a 2.4 liter 2GD-FTV turbodiesel engine, which has a two-wheel drive system. The engine produces 150 PS and 400 Nm of torque if it is mated with an automatic transmission, and 343 Nm when it is paired with six-speed manual.
For the standard four-wheel drive, the Hilux Conquest is powered by a 2.8 liter 1GD-FTV that has a power output of 177 PS and 450 Nm of torque, mated with six-speed automatic. When mated with manual, the torque is reduced to 420 Nm.
