Petromax Enterprise, local distributor of Alfa Romeo, has officially introduced the Abarth brand to Philippine shores, marking the brand’s first appearance in the country. Abarth is known for turning Fiat’s everyday models into veritable pocket rockets, and four of Abarth’s Fiat 500-based models are now available to local customers.

Abarth 595

The Abarth 595 is the standard 595 offering, with a 1.4-liter turbocharged “T-Jet” engine producing 143 hp, mated to either a manual or Abarth’s MTA semi-automatic transmission. Even as Abarth’s “entry level” model, the 595 can still propel itelf from 0-100 km/h in less than eight seconds. Sporty bumpers and 16-inch alloy wheels offer a glimpse of its fun-driving potential.

Abarth 595 Turismo

Moving up the range is the 595 Turismo, which gets an increase in power and additional equipment. The 1.4-liter engine is tuned to output 165 hp, complimented in style by its lightweight 17-inch alloy wheels, leather sports seats, and touches of racing elements in the cabin. The 595 Turismo is available in either coupe or convertible forms.

Abarth 595 Competizione

Higher up in the ranks is the 595 Competizione. The same 1.4-liter engine is pushed even further to deliver 180 hp, giving it a 0-100 km/h time of 6.7 seconds. The Record Monza Attivo exhaust produces a throaty grown which bellies its performance promise, delivered in part by large 4-piston Brembo calipers and Koni shock absorbers. Inside, the Competizione gets supportive Sabelt seats to keep the driver in place when taking those tight corners at speed. The 595 Competizione comes with either manual and semi-automatic transmission and is available as a convertible option as well.

Abarth 695 Rivale

The cream of the crop is the top-of-the-line Abarth 695 Rivale. A collaboration between Abarth and Italian yacht manufacturers Riva, the 695 Rivale embodies the kind of premium luxury you’d expect from a high-end yacht. Featuring a two-tone paint scheme, the 695 Rivale also uses the same 1.4-liter, 180 hp engine found in the 595 Competizione, but fully kitted with premium equipment, carbon fiber and leather design elements, and state-of-the-art features.
