Mecca for modified rides. Having witnessed every show since its inception eleven years ago, the annual Manila Auto Salon and the Sport Truck Show is widely regarded as the benchmark car show competition for top-notch car and truck customization.

In addition to the modded vehicles, the standout show also provides an appropriate venue for various automotive aftermarket companies and distributors to showcase their latest automotive products and get up close with their target market.

Organized by Tradeshow International, this year’s show was presented by Delium Tires Philippines. Boasting of quality tires for passenger cars, off-road vehicles, including bicycles and motorcycles, their complete product line-up was showcased in a well-executed booth.

This year’s Manila Auto Salon struck a very positive note for the industry and the hobby based on the sheer number of aftermarket companies and over 200 competing vehicles vying for top honors as it occupied four halls of the SMX  Convention center at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.

From DIY car care products to aftermarket wheels, tires, car audio, tools, automotive paint, brakes, complete suspension systems, the show absolutely catered to almost every car enthusiast’s whim and need. This section has been an integral part of the show and something that the show-goers have always looked forward to along with the lovely models.

As far as the quality and number of vehicles present, this year was extremely notable for the level of workmanship has truly improved along with the variety of entries that ranged from the highly popular Japanese tuner cars to all-out four-wheel drive creations and a host of modded supercars like Ferraris, Porsches, and Lamborghinis that truly elevates the local tuning scene to a whole new level.

Some of the top show awards such as the highly coveted Best of Show Extreme Custom Car award went to the highly modded Porsche Turbo S from Import Hookup and Nasiol PH.

The stunning metallic yellow Lexus from J Works got the Best of Show Custom Car and the Best in Paint award. For the Sport Truck category, the Toyota pickup of Toughdog PH and Dr. G’s Car Care Clinic got the Best of Show Sport Truck award while the Reserve Best of Show Sport Truck went to the Tonka-themed Toyota Hilux of Ridemax Ph and Autobot Offroad. The Best of Show SUV award went to the well-built Nissan Patrol of team Ridemax and SCAG Automotive services.

To sum up this year’s event Tradeshow President Ms. Sophie Delos Santos quips, “This year’s Manila Auto Salon and Sport Truck Show presented by Delium Tires is a validation of the booming automotive aftermarket industry in the Philippines. With the participation of over 200 project vehicles and over 100 automotive shops some of which were supported by their foreign principals, the 2-in-1 show was an overwhelming success. Business on the show floor was brisk and exhibitors and car shops are all looking forward to the 2019 edition already promising bigger displays. I am equally excited to plan for the 13th Manila Auto Salon and the 25th Sport Truck Show!”
