Still the premiere car show in the country

The 2018 Trans Sport Show was recently concluded at the sprawling SMX Convention Center in the Mall of Asia Complex. During its opening day, special guests from the transportation and tourism sectors such as Land Transportation Office (LTO) Chief ASEC Edgar Galvante, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority General Manager Jojo Garcia and Department of Tourism ASEC Ricky Alegre and others were present during the ribbon cutting ceremonies.

Now on its 27th year, the country’s premiere car show continues to showcase the best automotive creations with over a hundred cars ranging from classic cars to the wildest modded supercars imaginable. Highlights of this year’s crop of standout cars include the awesome Cobra by Alex Car Restoration that got the reserve best of show nostalgic class award. The McLaren supercar from Nasiol Philippines/Import Hookup/Habaluyas Group by Keith Bryan Haw got the best of show award in the contemporary class while the 1998 Toyota Corolla from Vonetix Radical Creations took home the best in paint and best of show award in the nostalgic class.

Other noteworthy well-built cars also got their slew of respective awards. It wasn’t all cars either as the show also offered a bustling array of vendor booths with the latest automotive aftermarket product geared for every car enthusiast. From car accessories of all kinds, auto parts, tools, and even collectible die cast cars, sure enough there was something for the car enthusiast. In addition, the show also boasted of a Miss Trans Sport Show contest which was won by Ms. Shaina Salazar.

“For 27 years now, Trans Sport Show has always been and continues to be in the forefront of automotive restoration and car show competitions. Having produced hundreds of show car winners in its 26 years run, Trans Sport Show has helped hundreds of car shops and individuals flourish in this field – several of whom have become ‘influencers’ when it comes to auto restoration.” Says Ms. Sophie Delos Santos, President of Tradeshow International Inc.

What started out in 1992 as a milestone event to showcase the amazing talents of automotive restorers and customizers in the local automotive industry has become the Philippines’ premiere and longest running car show by which all standards are set. Indeed the Trans Sport Show has become an annual gathering of car enthusiasts where they are able to witness the latest restoration and custom projects from the best shops as they vie for the coveted best in show and best in paint award. Here are some of the images from the exciting car show.
